On November 12, 2016, the Lutheran Ministries of Mercy received a donation from the Lutheran Men in Mission of Northwestern Ohio during their Fall Assembly that was hosted by LMM at the Advent Lutheran Center in Sylvania, Ohio.
The $7,000 raised for LMM was distributed evenly among its three members, Filling Homes, Lutheran Social Services of Northwestern Ohio, and Luther Home of Mercy. The men's organization raises funds through sponsorships and donations sought throughout the year in conjunction with the 5-mile, Mackinac Bridge Walk.
The 59th annual Bridge Walk, which begins in St. Ignace, Upper Peninsula Michigan, and finishes in Mackinaw City, Michigan, hosts on average 50,000 walkers and always takes place on Labor Day, which was September 5 this year.
The Lutheran Men in Mission recruited 19 people to walk the 5 mile expanse for this 9th time to benefit our Lutheran ministries.
